The task of stopping Calvin Johnson just got harder for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Darrelle Revis, the Tampa cornerback who is primarily responsible for covering Johnson today in Detroit, has suffered a groin injury and is questionable to return.

Johnson immediately took advantage of the Revis injury by catching two passes on the first drive Revis missed. Rookie cornerback Johnthan Banks was covering Johnson after Revis went down, and that was a mismatch. On one of Johnson’s catches, Banks was flagged for pass interference, but Johnson made the grab anyway.

That first drive without Revis ended with Matthew Stafford throwing a touchdown pass to Brandon Pettigrew. If that’s the way the Bucs’ secondary is going to play without Revis, it could be a rough second half.
