Decision coming on Michael Crabtree

The 49ers have a couple of days left to decide whether to activate wide receiver Michael Crabtree or put him on injured reserve.

Crabtree started practicing on November 5, but the 49ers limited his participation for a short time before ramping things back up last week. Coach Jim Harbaugh didn’t offer up much of a hint about the team’s ultimate plans in regard to Crabtree.

“It’s been good. Did some good things,” Harbaugh said, via Jimmy Durkin of the Bay Area News Group.

If they think he’s close to 100 percent, the 49ers could activate Crabtree on Tuesday even if he’s not ready to play in a game. It seems unlikely that he’ll be activated in time to play against the Redskins on Monday night, which could leave the 49ers thin at receiver.

Mario Manningham is listed as questionable because of a knee injury. With Quinton Patton out, the 49ers would be down to three wideouts for Monday night if Manningham isn’t able to play.

Cornerback Tarell Brown (ribs) and guard Mike Iupati (knee) are also out for the Niners. Defensive tackle Ray McDonald is questionable with an ankle injury.
