The Dolphins have practically invited the Panthers to jump out to an early lead.

But thus far, the Panthers have refused, and the Dolphins are up 7-3.

Ryan Tannehill just hit Mike Wallace for a rare deep ball, connecting for a 53-yard touchdown.

The Panthers had taken possession of the ball twice before that, at the Dolphins 42 and the Dolphins 43, and only had a field goal to show for it.

Between an interception that bounced off at least six hands of Panthers defenders, and a 42-yard punt return by Ted Ginn Jr. (and his entire family), the Panthers have enjoyed field position all day.

But Graham Gano drilled one field goal attempt into the back of his own line, and made a 52-yarder for the early lead.

The Dolphins have kept the pressure on Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, with Cameron Wake hitting him in the head at one point, causing Newton to spit up blood.
