MRIs coming Monday for Hali, Houston

AP

The Chiefs lost at home to the Chargers on Sunday.  Their ability to not lose at home next Sunday to the Broncos could hinge on the outcome of a pair of MRI exams.

Coach Andy Reid said after the Week 12 loss that linebacker Tamba Hali will have an MRI on his sprained ankle, and that linebacker Justin Houston will have an MRI on his injured elbow.  Both players left the game and did not return.

They have combined for 20 sacks this season, so the Chiefs will need them next week against Peyton Manning.

Then again, neither that duo nor anyone else on the team was even able to get a hand on Manning last Sunday night, so maybe it won’t matter.

  1. They’re way overrated anyway, they feasted on Terrell Pryor for all those sacks and haven’t done anything in a month.

  2. Um….we’ve played without VON MILLER, RYAN CLADY and CHAMP BAILEY for most of the year….IF they play or not WHO CARES… NO EXCUSES!!! Every team deals with injuries. The Chiefs werent gonna beat us either way…

  3. Yup, that was a tough loss for us yesterday. We were just a few plays away from winn….Hey! Remember when the Broncos dropped a 24 point lead against the Patriots?

Ridiculous comparison. Playing without Miller and Bailey isn’t a big deal when you’re putting up points at a record pace. The fact that you’re putting up points at a record pace means Clady’s presence isn’t a major factor.

Losing one or the other of these 2 guys might equate to playing without Von Miller. Losing them both is more comparable to the Broncos offense without Manning or the Chiefs offense without Charles.

Either way, it doesn’t matter. Chiefs fans don’t need excuses…game on…

  5. I know the Chiefs fans aren’t making excuses, but dear media – you do realize that we were playing without Freeney, and Ingram, and S. Williams, and Jarrett Johnson, and English, and Danario Alexander, and Malcom Floyd and that only one of our offensive lineman was playing his normal position, while starting 2 backups on the OLine as well? Nope, only the Chiefs had injuries, and that’s why we won….
