MRIs coming Monday for Hali, Houston

HaliandHouston

The Chiefs lost at home to the Chargers on Sunday. Their ability to not lose at home next Sunday to the Broncos could hinge on the outcome of a pair of MRI exams.

Coach Andy Reid said after the Week 12 loss that linebacker Tamba Hali will have an MRI on his sprained ankle, and that linebacker Justin Houston will have an MRI on his injured elbow. Both players left the game and did not return.

They have combined for 20 sacks this season, so the Chiefs will need them next week against Peyton Manning.

Then again, neither that duo nor anyone else on the team was even able to get a hand on Manning last Sunday night, so maybe it won’t matter.
