Texans drop ninth straight, lose 13-6 to Jaguars

The Jaguars could be in the process of acquiring their quarterback of the future.

And in the process, they’re allowing the Texans the chance to perhaps do so as well.

The Jaguars beat the toothless Texans 13-6, sending the Texans to their ninth straight loss.

With the loss, the Texans have played themselves into a 2-9 logjam with the Jaguars and the Falcons (with the 2-8 Vikings and Bucs each still playing).

That’s a status befitting an ugly game, as the Jaguars didn’t so much win as failed to be as bad as the Texans were.

There were moments early in the second half when they recalled Andre Johnson played for them (two catches for 36 yards), but a late Case Keenum interception killed a brief rally.

Keenum finished 18-of-34 for 169 yards, and though he was sacked twice, he was on the run all day and never had time to make a play.

The Jaguars have now won two of their last three, which stands as a hot streak.

  1. Last year I couldn’t walk out my front door without a Texans “fan” berating me and boasting how awesome their team was and how they had been a fan since the Texans inception along with their bleeding heart “loyalty”.

I haven’t found one of those “fans” this year.

  2. The Texans now have the number one pick with the Jaguars and Bucs coming out of their funks. Who could have seen that a month ago? But not so fast Houston, Minnesota is going to give you a run for that pick, lol.

  3. Let’s hope not! I wonder how the Texans felt today when they saw half the seats empty at Reliant??? The defense actually played decent today. The problem is obviously the Offense as Case did nothing but run around trying to avoid the rush of the Jaguars. When is McNair going to wake up and start cleaning house? You don’t go from being a Super Bowl contender to having the worst record in the league and not make substantial changes. It all starts at the top meaning Rick Smith (GM) and Gary Kubiak (Head Coach) should be fired now! Wade has coached the defense pretty well, but whoever is coaching the Secondary needs to be fired! They can’t cover anybody and JJ is not a shutdown corner!!! Getting your 1st First Down shortly before halftime is embarrassing and further proves that Kubiak and Rick Denison have no idea what the hell they’re doing. As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday. I’m not sure what to be thankful for other than J.J. Watt and Andre who play like a “champion” every week! We all know the Texans have many problems. It’s time we got a proven coach in here like a Gruden or Cowher as that’s what this team needs!!!

  4. These guys used to beat the easy opponents at least and then collapse in the big games.

    Now they’ve just plain collapsed.

  5. In Howard Finkle voice, “The loser, and NEWWWWWWW PFT 32nd ranked team, The Houuuuston Tex Annnnnnns.”

We’re still around, we’re just not very happy as it turns out. Get over it already.

  7. Whew. I was starting to get worried, htown1035. Thanks a lot for reassuring us that those bandwagoning fans are still in full force..staying quiet as ever.

  8. Most disappointing team in all of football. At least the Falcons have injuries to blame.

The Texans have just collapsed. Matt Schaub dug them into an early hole and they’ve never recovered.
