The Chargers outlasted the Chiefs in a 41-38 shootout at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday afternoon, improving their record to 5-6 and keeping them in the hunt for a Wild Card spot in the AFC.

The day wasn’t all about good news, however. The Chargers saw several key players go down with injuries over the course of the game, including defensive end Corey Liuget. Liuget got his legs rolled up on the Chiefs’ last-ditch final play and the Chargers’ celebration was somewhat subdued as teammates checked to make sure Liuget was OK.

Liuget said he was after the game and right tackle D.J. Fluker is also expected to be OK after injuring his knee on the Chargers’ final extra point of the game.

“The ball was gone, and they kept trying to push me and push me to the ground,” Fluker said, via U-T San Diego. “I had planted, and my leg got pinned to the ground.”

The Chargers also saw running back Ryan Mathews leave with a hamstring injury, which was deemed an aggravation of an injury originally suffered in Week 10, and wide receiver Eddie Royal left with an injured chest. Coach Mike McCoy said full updates on all injured players will come this week and we’ll see what kind of shape the Chargers are in for their Week 13 date with the Bengals.
