Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner is facing a one-year suspension for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy.
Shortly after Browner denied an NFL Network report that he was facing a suspension for performance-enhancing drugs, NFL Network changed its story and said Browner is facing a suspension under a different NFL policy. Adam Schefter of ESPN then reported that the suspension is actually for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy, and that it’s a one-year suspension.
Browner and his agent both took to Twitter after the initial NFL Network report came out and denied that Browner is facing a PED suspension. But they did not deny that he is facing a suspension at all.
Although the Seahawks have been strong in the secondary this season, they suddenly find themselves facing two cornerback suspensions. In addition to apparently losing Browner, cornerback Walter Thurmond is expected to miss four games while serving his own substance-abuse suspension.
