Sterling Moore rejoining Cowboys in time for turkey

Cornerback Morris Claiborne aggravated his hamstring injury on Sunday and had to leave the Cowboys’ 24-21 victory over the Giants early as a result.

With the team on a short week because of Thanksgiving, they aren’t wasting any time making sure they’re covered in the event that Claiborne misses the game against the Raiders. Nick Eatman of the team’s website passes along word that the team will bring back cornerback Sterling Moore and that he’ll practice with the team when they get back to work this week.

Moore was cut at the end of the preseason by the Cowboys. He played five games with Dallas during the 2012 season, joining the team after he was released by the Patriots eight games into the year. Brandon Carr, Orlando Scandrick and B.W. Webb handled cornerback duties after Claiborne departed on Sunday night.

Tight end Andre Smith, who was inactive on Sunday, is on his way out to make room for Moore’s return to the roster.

That turkey would be an upgrade on the Packers defense

I like Moore. Not bad for a guy that was just thrown into the fray.

Really surprised Moore was available. Rob Ryan loved him in his system last year and considering Jabahri Greer’s injury last week. I would’ve just assumed they had him on the first thing moving to Nawlins.

I thought Dallas was foolish to cut Moore at the end of preseason. The rookie Webb just isn’t able to cover in the NFL and Claiborne can’t stay healthy. Glad he is back.

He is in luck. He joins a team that’s about to get hot. He is already familiar with our system. Great pick up! Welcome back Moore!
