Cornerback Morris Claiborne aggravated his hamstring injury on Sunday and had to leave the Cowboys’ 24-21 victory over the Giants early as a result.
With the team on a short week because of Thanksgiving, they aren’t wasting any time making sure they’re covered in the event that Claiborne misses the game against the Raiders. Nick Eatman of the team’s website passes along word that the team will bring back cornerback Sterling Moore and that he’ll practice with the team when they get back to work this week.
Moore was cut at the end of the preseason by the Cowboys. He played five games with Dallas during the 2012 season, joining the team after he was released by the Patriots eight games into the year. Brandon Carr, Orlando Scandrick and B.W. Webb handled cornerback duties after Claiborne departed on Sunday night.
Tight end Andre Smith, who was inactive on Sunday, is on his way out to make room for Moore’s return to the roster.
