Vikings claim Mike Remmers off waivers

With the release of cornerback A.J. Jefferson on Monday due to an arrest regarding a domestic violence incident, the Minnesota Vikings had an open roster spot to fill.

The Vikings filled the spot by claiming offensive lineman Mike Remmers off waivers from the San Diego Chargers.

Remmers was released by the Chargers on Saturday to make room for the addition of practice squad tackle Kenny Wiggins.

Remmers has played for the Denver Broncos, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chargers after being undrafted out of Oregon State in 2012. He was signed off the Buccaneers practice squad to the Chargers active roster in October and appeared in just one game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Remmers replaced King Dunlap at left tackle in the game briefly before suffering a high-ankle sprain and being carted off.

  1. Superbowl Homeboy. Welcome to a tasteless and hapless organization. An organization that has lost 4 consecutive season series against the highly respected, 13 time champion Green Bay Packers. Hope you can handle it.

  2. Let’s see if I got this one straight, the Vikings trade away two draft picks for a CB that can’t cover or tackle but his girlfriend says he hits like a Mack Truck only to cut him to sign a back up offensive lineman who was last seen being carried off the field with a lower leg injury.

I will give the Viking fans this, Rick “I can’t draft a QB to save my life or the franchise” Spielman is truly a genius.

  3. I think the Vikings pick up cast-offs simply because the guy happens to fit into their leftover helmets and uniforms. Saves some money. That’s usually the only strategic decision they have at this time of year.

  4. AJ Jefferson was arrested for something Minneanderthals do every day. He was the perfect role model for that group of horrible people.

Ah well. Maybe this guy will be a more positive influence, and help bring that state out of the dark ages.

  5. The whole NFC North is a joke. Unless you’re in first place, don’t talk trash to crappy teams (I mean you, third place Packers). Third place teams bragging about beating 2 win teams makes you a bully.

Oh by the way, Matt Flynn is the second coming of the Majik Man. Rodgers will never be the same. He’ll be done before he’s 31 coaching HS football in North Dakota.

    THE ROAR HAS BEEN RESTORED

    MEOW

As usual, you do not have this one straight. The Vikings traded a 2013 sixth-round pick for Jefferson and a 2014 seventh-round pick. I know Ted Thompson thinks sixth-round picks are like gold because he trades higher picks for later picks, but I call that garbage for garbage.

  9. 2 years in a row the Packers couldn’t sweep a regular season series against a Vikings team all of their fans say they are 100 times better than.

In fact, they played 3 teams with losing records the last 3 weeks and didn’t beat 1 of them.

I wonder if playing a Detroit team with a winning record is going to be easy? NOPE

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I wasn’t inaccurate, I said picks and you listed two of them, I didn’t even mention which round because its irrelevant because the only thing Spielman picks well is his nose. If you are going to waste a #12 overall on Ponder, its worth noting that Brady was taken in the 6th round.

    Question of the day:

What’s more ragged? The Packers run defense OR the condition of Ted Thompsons liver?

Trick question. The answer is “the hopes of any Vikings Superbowl Ever.”

  12. To all the Packers trolls:

Sunday’s game is proof that without Aaron Rogers, the Packers = the Vikings.

Don’t tell me how great GM and head coach are. They are simply living off the QB.
