It has been less than 24 hours since the Vikings’ tie with the Packers came to an end, but cornerback A.J. Jefferson has been pretty busy.

A Hennepin County Jail spokesperson confirmed with Tom Pelissero of USA Today that Jefferson is in jail after being arrested on Monday morning on probable cause for domestic assault. There are no other details available at the moment, but we do know that Jefferson won’t be a member of the Vikings as he deals with any further legal matters related to the arrest.

The Vikings announced that they have released Jefferson. He’ll be available to any team that wants to claim him on waivers, although that seems unlikely given Jefferson’s other alleged activities on Monday.

Jefferson, who has five tackles and an interception in 10 games this season, was arrested little more than two weeks after wide receiver Jerome Simpson was arrested on drunk driving charges.
