Dez says his ball security is fine, blames fumble on the cold

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones thinks receiver Dez Bryant’s fumbling problems are a result of his violent running style, and his need to hold the ball close to his body. Bryant doesn’t see it that way.

Bryant said he thinks he’s holding the ball properly, but it’s just hard to hang on in a game as cold as Sunday’s win over the Giants in New Jersey.

“I think my ball security, in my honest opinion has been fine,” Bryant told reporters, via the Dallas Morning News. “It was just that kind of a game to where you have to be a little bit more prepared focusing on what kind of difficulties it will be in the cold weather handling the ball. You just got to prepare a little bit better knowing you will be in the game.”

As reporters continued to ask Bryant about himself, he declined.

“We did win that game as a team. It’s not all about me, not to be rude,” Bryant said.

Nothing rude about that. Even if Jones may not want to hear that one of his players contradicted him.
