Steelers get Shamarko Thomas and Brett Keisel back for Thursday night

When the Steelers travel to Baltimore on Thursday night, they won’t have nose tackle Steve McLendon.  And they may not have linebacker LaMarr Woodley.

McLendon is officially out for the Thanksgiving night showdown, with an ankle injury. Coach Mike Tomlin said Monday that McLendon likely would miss the game.

Woodley, who has missed the last two games, is doubtful with a calf injury.

The good news is that safety Shamarko Thomas (ankle) and defensive end Brett Keisel (foot) are probable to play.  Each has missed the last two games.

Also probable are tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle), tight end Heath Miller (not injury related), safety Troy Polamalu (not injury related), and linebacker Stevenson Sylvester (hamstring).

The Ravens have a short injury list.  Safety Brynden Trawick (ankle) is out, and defensive end Chris Canty (shoulder) is probable.

  1. I really like what Shamarko brings to the table. Hopefully, he continues to develop into the player I think he is capable of being.
Love Keisel. Not a bad career for a 7th rounder who sat out much of his rookie season and all of his 2nd due to injury. He would have been cut if not for Cowher’s hunting trip with him to his parent’s house after his rookie season. (my new neighbor is Brett’s best bud from BYU)

  2. I bet Keisel would spend a small fortune on razor blades if he had to shave at least once a day and with that heavy beard he’s probably a twice a day guy to keep a smooth face. Great beard, though.

  3. Completely agree Steeley. Did the Steeler’s have him targeted to play the wrong side all this time? He looked like a completely different player coming from the left side.

  4. Brett Keisel=Washed Up Veteran
    Shamarko Thomas=Draft Bust/Future Inmate

Ravens draft class, like Ray “God” Lewis, future HOFer, and our first pick to start the greastest franchise ever assembled.

Well yes and and no. He played exclusively on the left side at VT but he wasnt going to beat out Wood or Harrison. Even when Woodley was hurt last year they slid Timmons outside which didnt work out. Now that DeeBo is gone that free’d up the right side for him. It was more about not being about to get on the field on the left side than anthing. Now that hes there hopefully he’ll stay there and they will slide Wood to the right. We’ll deal with the rest after the season.

Regardless of how you feel, Shamarko Thomas was a 4th round pick. In most cases, “busts” are quantified by high round, mainly first round choices – – ie, 2005 1st Round wide receiver Mark Clayton.

  8. We are the Worilds…. we are the Steelers….We are the ones to get the win tomorrow….. so let’s start cheering…….

Yes, you did have to go back 8 years to find a “bust” by Ozzie.

Just seems odd, complaining about Clayton yet being content with the production (?) of Ziggy Hood, Cameron Heyward and Limas Sweed.

    Hmm…
