We’ve known that Thomas Davis was one of the toughest and most resilient players in the league, after overcoming three torn ACLs.
Now there’s recognition that he’s also one of the best.
The Panthers linebacker was named November’s NFC defensive player of the month.
Davis had 35 tackles during the month, including 17 in the Panthers win over the Patriots on Monday Night Football. He also had a sack, an interception a forced fumble and two passes defensed during the Panthers undefeated month.
All told, the Panthers have won seven straight, and have the league’s best scoring defense, allowing 13.7 points per game.
And the ninth-year linebacker has been a key to that resurgence with his play, not just his inspirational story.
