Revis could be game-time decision

Revis

Information has been scarce regarding the groin injury suffered last Sunday by Buccaneers cornerback Darrelle Revis.

For now, the best information is that Revis could be a game-time decision, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. Revis, who recently has seemed to be back in his pre-ACL form, hasn’t practiced this week, and no one has said anything specific regarding the outcome of an MRI performed in the wake of the injury.

If Revis can’t play, the Bucs will need to decide how to cover Carolina’s top wideout, Steve Smith. Rookie Johnthan Banks could get the honors.

Later today, we’ll know whether Revis was able to practice on Friday -- and which of the various labels will be applied to him on the injury report.

If he’s questionable or doubtful, the next question will be whether he travels with the team to Charlotte on Saturday.

The Panthers have won seven games in a row, and the Bucs are riding a three-game winning streak.
