Aaron Dobson has a sprained foot

Patriots receiver Aaron Dobson will miss Sunday’s game at Houston.  Officially, he has a foot injury.  Unofficially, it’s a sprained foot.

According to Nick Underhill of MassLive.com, the sprain happened Sunday night against the Broncos.  Though some foot sprains can caught extended absences, Underhill says the Patriots are being cautious with Dobson’s injury.

The second-round rookie’s absence likely means that undrafted rookie Kenbrell Thompkins will get more work against the Texans.

Thompkins can handle starting reps in his absence it is nice to have depth.

Thompkins is head and shoulders above Dobson in every conceivable way. Thompkins has out played him since training camp and deserves to be ahead of Dobson on the depth chart. The only reason why he hasn’t completely eclipsed Dobson is because of his draft position. I’m not worried about this.

I know that Dobson will get better, but I would rather have Thompkins in anyway. Aaron really needs to experiment with Stickum or something.

I love the stickum comment, but give the kid a break. From what we have seen, not just read about, the Patriots offense is tough to learn. He has the speed, just needs to pull in the ball. He looks uncomfortable out there, but with time he can be a play maker.

Both Tomkins and Dobson are rookies with their whole careers ahead of them. Let’s give them a chance to develop.

Draft position is irrelevant. BB puts the best team on the field for each game. Early in the season that was Thompkins, however he had some struggles and so more recently it has been Dobson.

If the Patriots’ starters were listed as “out”
It’s still gonna be an embarrassing rout.
The Texans were doomed from September this year
They shouldn’t have chosen the skull of a steer
As the decal they placed on the side of their head,
As usual the Texans rolled over, played dead
