Gary Kubiak counting on being on sidelines Sunday

Gary Kubiak AP

While it’s hard to know where he stands in terms of job security, Texans coach Gary Kubiak sounds like a man sure of where he’ll stand Sunday.

Count on it,” Kubiak said of working from the sidelines, via Brian Smith of the Houston Chronicle.

Kubiak has coached from the press box the last two weeks, after returning from a stroke-like attack suffered at halftime of a game at Reliant Stadium against the Colts.

He was meeting with his doctors Friday afternoon, but gave no indication he planned to be anywhere but with his team Sunday against the Patriots.

Given that the clock could be ticking on his tenure as head coach of the 2-9 Texans, he should probably savor every moment.

    Don’t blame him…

He’s trying to coach on the field his last few games before being shown the door…

His presence can only hurt the Texans chance for a win.

I’m glad he’s deemed well enough to be on the sideline and I wish him all the best health wise. With the frustration he’s going to feel today, he’ll find out if stress was really the cause of the problem.
