The Patriots have ruled cornerback Alfonzo Dennard (knee) out of Sunday’s game at Houston, the club announced Saturday night.

Dennard played 21 snaps in the Patriots’ comeback win vs. the Broncos on Sunday, recording one tackle. He has notched 35 tackles, defended seven passes and picked off one pass in 10 games (eight starts) for New England in 2013. He missed the Patriots’ Week 11 loss at Carolina with a knee ailment before returning six days later against Denver.

With Dennard out, Kyle Arrington could get the call at right cornerback on Sunday at Houston. Arrington, who’s questionable with a groin injury, has started the last two games on the right side for 8-3 New England, which has a three-game lead in the AFC East.
