Stevan Ridley will not fumble today for Patriots

If Patriots running back Stevan Ridley is going to get out of his “funk,” he’ll have to do it another day.

The mistake-prone running back was put on the inactive list for today’s game against the Texans, which prevents them from having to bench him.

Ridley has coughed it up in three straight games, and has sought counsel from veterans such as Kevin Faulk to correct his problem.

But it appears they’re going to give him a little more time to think about it.

The other backs will do just fine. Unless the Pats have a major breakdown in focus and concentration they should hammer the Texans.

That’s too bad. The kid’s talented, but has been a liability. I think he can fix it though. I’d love to see him succeed.

I remember Faulk’s fumbling problems. Just when I was ready to see them cut him, he became one of the most reliable players they ever had.

This is a good coaching move. Ridley is a good player but is a constant fumbler. The week off takes the pressure off him.

Ridley can play when they get a ball with a handle and handcuffs on it.

Ridley hasn’t been the same guy since he got seriously clocked last year.
