PFT on NBCSN: Coaching hot seat, Power rankings

Is your team’s coach safe when the season comes to an end?

For some of you, that’s not even a question as playoff dreams dance in your head. For others, though, there’s a real possibility of a new face on the sideline come 2014. If you’re in the latter group, you’re in luck (relatively speaking, of course) because that’s one of the topics that we’ll be talking about on Tuesday’s edition of Pro Football Talk on NBCSN.

It is time for the weekly look at the coaching hot seat, which will likely be featuring discussion of names like Gary Kubiak and Mike Shanahan after their teams tumbled even further down the power rankings with losses in Week 13. Speaking of power rankings, we’ll have a look at this week’s edition as well.

It all gets started at 5:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

Kubiak, Shanny, Rex, Frazier, Schiano, and whoever coaches and runs operations for the Jags.

Mike Tomlin is on a different hot seat — the James Harrison Honorary Hot Seat.

Gary Kubiak, Mike Muncheck, Dennis Allen, Rex Ryan, Leslie Frazier, Joe Philbin for being accountable for whats up in Miami, Mike Shanahan, could all be gone. I’d like to see Bill Cowher, John Gruden, Brian Billick, “the Mooch” back on the sidelines. Jay Gruden, Rob Ryan could head coaches next season.

    Basedrum , I’ve got news for you (cough , cough) . . . Philbin ain’t goin’ nowhere.

Jim Schwartz should absolutely not be mentioned as a coach on the hot seat. He’s made ballsy calls all year and that’s what we need in Detroit. And although some have backfired, others have produced great results. Fans of other teams hate him. Opposing players hate him. And that’s perfect! That’s exactly the kind of hard nosed coach Detroit has needed since Fontz. He’s got Detroit moving in a winning direction and he’s earned the respect of his players most of all.

Darrell Bevell, the Seattle OC has a chance to be the new head coach somewhere.

Even with this season marking three straight years of zero playoff wins — and there will be three straight more after this — and a blatant, shameful cheating scandal Tomlin is safe until his contract is up after the 2016 season.

All he needs to do is keep laying down that sweet, sweet gobbledegook double talk and blowing away the Rooneys and he will probably get an extension.

All Vikings fans thankful the clueless wonder, McCarthy, will be back in gbay.

Funny, he is a “genius” with Rodgers.

But, he looks lost without him. In fact, the ENTIRE organization is lost.

He is also winless without him……0-4-1.

Where are all the gbay fans that were talking about how all the injuries (cue the violin, please) made this year feel like 2010….and an eventual Super Bowl was in the offing……ehh pack fan?!

It is funnier every time I post it:

Hey gbay: NEXT MAN UP!!!!!! (DOH!!!!)

Yet a better record than Frasier
Duece is that your name or something the Vikings leave on the field
That thing about the injuries is really funny.
Not as funny as Brent Favre costing the Vikes a trip to the SB though NOW THAT ALOT OF PEOPLE LAUGH AT

    No, you’re not.

If McCarthy were to be fired, the Vikings would be busting down his door in five minutes. You know this to be true – it happens all the time with ex-Packer players.

The poor, insignificant Vikings. While the other teams in the NFC North (especially the Packers) have long histories, traditions, and championship titles, the Vikings are like that nerdy little brother who wants to hang with the cool kids but doesn’t quite measure up.

tvjules obviously doesn’t anything about the Jags.

I’m a dolphins fan and think philbin and his incessant need to have the offense called by Sherman has cost us games this year. Plus he’s not working to develop some of the younger talent he has on our roster (or he is doing it VERY VERY slowly). Trying to run a 4-3 with 3-4 personnel doesn’t help either.
