Prosecutors allege Hernandez’s fiancee lied 29 times to grand jury

Jenkins AP

Shayanna Jenkins, the girlfriend of former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, faces charges of lying to a grand jury investigating the murder of Odin Lloyd.

According to prosecutors, Jenkins lied 29 times.

Via the Boston Globe, prosecutors outlined the various alleged falsehoods in court papers filed in connection with the case.  The alleged untruths include lies regarding conversations with Hernandez on June 18, when he allegedly called from his lawyer’s office and told her to remove items from the house.

She also allegedly lied about why she removed the things, about her lack of knowledge as to what the objects were, and about how she got rid of the objects.

With 29 different swings of the proverbial bat, the prosecution needs to connect only once to get a conviction.  The overriding goal could be to get Hernandez to strike a deal in order to protect the mother of his young child.

Her eyebrows look guilty in this picture, too.

Would’ve loved to hear Mrs. Bueller’s reaction to that accusation.

She’s also lying about her eyebrows…

Once she is staring at 30 years that little chick is gonna sing like a bird.

“The overriding goal could be to get Hernandez to strike a deal in order to protect the mother of his young child.”

You think someone who (allegedly) commits pre-meditated murder is above letting his baby’s momma fall on the sword for him?

    Epic.

  6. ravenswhat says: Dec 3, 2013 5:56 PM

Damn. That’s what we call a ride or die bit$&$.

  7. buckshowalter says: Dec 3, 2013 5:57 PM

Hernandez is definitely not “striking a deal” to protect Jenkins, he’s in absolute deny til you die mode.

Ouch! 29 reasons to tell the truth, once.

  9. outlawjerseywhales says: Dec 3, 2013 6:01 PM

In defense of the young lady, the only reason she lied 29 times to the grand jury is that there were not 30 questions asked.

  10. thepftpoet says: Dec 3, 2013 6:03 PM

    The patriot way

  11. dietrich43 says: Dec 3, 2013 6:05 PM

I bet Hernandez would flip on her to save his guilty skin. He will only sign a deal that benefits him.

    Haha.

I wanna see Hernandez in the NFL again. Too bad that last line sounds too good to be true. A “ride or die” chick would be okay with doing time to get her man off murder charges.

Unfortunately lieing to a grand jury isn’t the biggest problem the couple has to face.

Nobody’s perfect. So she lost her place 29 times. They aren’t going to actually charge her are they? If they do then Ignorance really has a horrible W-L record as an excuse lately. Anybody notice that trend? It’s worth keeping an eye on and maybe coming up with a different strategy to get yourself out of trouble. Perhaps not side-stepping into it voluntarily is a good way to do that.

  14. lemmetalkwouldya says: Dec 3, 2013 6:19 PM

I was told by a friend who works at the prison where Hernandez is, that the prosecutors were going to lean on this skank to get her to talk, because they know that SHE knows.

And it looks like that’s exactly what’s happening ;)

  15. dcstinks says: Dec 3, 2013 6:22 PM

She should be locked up for having eyebrows like that.
Way to go Hernandez, she’s a beauty and a keeper. But is she a MAN??

  16. mauicat1 says: Dec 3, 2013 6:29 PM

If I’m the girlfriend, I gotta’ get something from my soon-to-be-in-freakin’-prison-for-the-rest-of-my-sorry-ass-life-murdering boyfriend, like maybe a couple million “caische”.
We know dude is rat-holing some serious coin. Then, when I get about twenty pounds of Franklins, stick it somewhere safe, and cut the deal I was gonna’ cut anyway. Then, I walk. If the prosecutor has her testimony, and can make it easier to get the killer convicted, I don’t think that he is too inclined to get Jenkins behind bars. He already has Hernandez exactly where he belongs.

  17. davikes says: Dec 3, 2013 6:37 PM

The prosecutors know this because Hernandez managed to damage, but leave functioning the voice recorder he had installed at the house.

But seriously, I’m guessing the prosecutors had the phones tapped before they knocked on his door.

You know, I’d almost forgotten about this whole saga.

Somehow, it just stays alive. Probably be great movie someday. Or at least and two part Investigation:Discovery episode.

  20. thelastbesthope says: Dec 3, 2013 7:19 PM

If you’re her, who do you fear? The peeps on the grand jury, the lawyers, the judge… or the boyfriend she knows?

  21. aldante66 says: Dec 3, 2013 7:22 PM

I say toss the freeeeeekin book at her. Put her away in womans lockup for a few nights and she will be singing a new tune.
Hey the only reason she is lying she see’s he still has a gravy train of money and she ain’t leavin da moooney.

  25. kriswd40 says: Dec 3, 2013 7:38 PM

I’m sure Hernandez gave her some good advise before he went away… snitches get ditches.

  26. lks311 says: Dec 3, 2013 7:40 PM

    All the eyebrow talk…cultural.

Now that we’ve established that piece, she is undoubtedly lying to save her man. Which means, she’ll likely do time as well. Too bad for the kid.

“With 29 different swings of the proverbial bat, the prosecution needs to connect only once to get a conviction. The overriding goal could be to get Hernandez to strike a deal in order to protect the mother of his young child.”

More likely, the overriding goal is to frighten her to the point she gives evidence against HIM, to protect herself and her child.

All these internet toughies heaping scorn on Shayanna Jenkins. Wow. I bet their partner/wife/mother would drop the dime on them for a package of cigarettes.

  30. 1rockyracoon says: Dec 3, 2013 8:35 PM

Soon to be a witness for the prosecution. She’s facing real time in prison. Her meal ticket is cooked, so why would she sacrifice several years in prison to protect him?

  31. dapollock69 says: Dec 3, 2013 8:44 PM

Got to give her credit, my wife would flip me for jaywalking.

  32. blahblah1000 says: Dec 3, 2013 9:06 PM

Standard prosecution operating procedure – charge a key witness with something and then offer to drop the charges if he or she will talk. It usually works if the charge is heavy but maybe not this time. This chicka looks pretty tough and probably has family that would care for her child if she goes to prison.

  34. fanofevilempire says: Dec 4, 2013 12:15 AM

Miss Jenkins did the prosecution drop the 29 charges of lying in return for your testimony today, yes, are you telling the truth now, no need to answer, I withdraw the question.
Your Honor I have no more questions for the witness.

  35. fanofevilempire says: Dec 4, 2013 12:16 AM

by the way that chick is pretty and there is nothing wrong with her eyebrow and no she is not a man. I bet most of you have fat wives that look like sheet.

  36. falcons999 says: Dec 4, 2013 1:08 AM

    Does that make this “Liegate”?

  37. easywolf says: Dec 4, 2013 8:52 AM

Just another dumb couple with low iq who thought it was cool to ride or die lol..

  38. mackie66 says: Dec 4, 2013 9:25 AM

proving that someone lied is almost impossible, but if an attorney knows one thing,,,its a lie,, cause they are good at it. If this wasn’t so tragic it would be funny, attorneys accusing some one of lying. To funny..

  40. iamedreed says: Dec 4, 2013 11:54 AM

first of all perjury is one of the hardest crimes to prove because all she has to say is she had a lapse in memory or forgot and she can walk

and perjury charges don’t carry a lot of jail time, she will keep silent, and most likely get off with time served

Really? You’re calling him a liar for using prison as a synonym for jail? Prison, jail, can, cage. What difference does it make?

  42. patsfan92 says: Dec 4, 2013 3:29 PM

hey, at least she’s hot lol

  43. dhardy8207 says: Dec 9, 2013 10:22 AM

I got a feeling she’ll sing like a canary before its all over with.. She’s still trying to hang on to that “dreamboat” of a fella she’s got there. She’s still counting some of those Patriot $$millions in her mind thinking they’ll be something left when he ships off to whatever federal resort he’ll be going to…

There’s also a seperate investigation going into a double murder in Florida, where he is also a suspect.

I’m with @Deb; Girl “stand by your man” is just a song and Tammy Wynnett finally got enough of George Jones drunk a$$…..
