As the Saints loaded up the buses at CenturyLink Field after Monday night’s 34-7 loss at Seattle, the team learned that their plane had a problem.

Which meant the Saints had a big problem. Stuck in Seattle for the night, they had to scramble to find hotel rooms for the players, coaches, and others in the entourage.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the group separated into roughly three hotels in the vicinity of the Seattle airport, with everyone settling in to their rooms at roughly midnight local time.

The Saints then flew back to New Orleans today, getting back to the facility at 4:00 p.m. CT.

The end result is that a short week has gotten even shorter, with the Panthers (who played at home on Sunday) having a two-day head start to prepare for the first of two games in 14 days that will go a long way toward deciding the NFC South.
