Visanthe Shiancoe heading to Tennessee

The Titans are down two tight ends because of concussions at the moment, a state of affairs that’s led them to shuffle up their roster.

Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that the team will sign veteran tight end Visanthe Shiancoe. The team hasn’t announced the move, but they do have room on the roster. The NFL’s daily transaction report brings word that they have released linebacker Zac Diles and safety Shann Schillinger and confirmation that fullback Quinn Johnson has rejoined the club with Colin Mooney hitting injured reserve.

Schiancoe hasn’t played since being released by the Ravens at the end of the preseason and played in just four games with the Patriots last season. That ended a string of nine straight seasons without missing a game, but he should be in the lineup if Delanie Walker and Craig Stevens remain out.

Taylor Thompson is the other tight end on the Tennessee roster. The college defensive end caught nine passes for 59 yards over the last two seasons.

I wonder if Shianc has to pay for an extra seat when he flies.

Good luck in Tennessee buddy, Viking nation still loves you

Rumor has it he was negotiating with the 49ers, but refused to sign out of fear that 49er TE’s are routinely tackled by the part of the male anatomy of which Visanthe is particularly well endowed.

This guy is totally past it, he’ll do nothing

  5. mataug says: Dec 3, 2013 6:04 PM

He’s done well sometimes but sadly, this guy will only be known for having three legs.

    Viking nation?

  7. halbert53 says: Dec 3, 2013 6:50 PM

The reason players are tackled by part of the male anatomy is so defenses can prepare for full blown flag football next season.

With that third leg, it’s like they signed 2 players. The leg wants a signing bonus, btw.

    Viking Nation?

There is no Viking Nation. Hell, half of the people in the state of Minnesota root for either Green Bay or Chicago.

D’ya reckon the 3rd leg will still be sporting the purple helmet?

  11. rascalmanny says: Dec 3, 2013 7:29 PM

The Titans could use a 3rd leg. They’ve been wimping out for years now.

Titans: joining fellow bottom feeders as Raiders, Lions, Browns, Jets, Jags, etc…….

Why the down votes? Bobby and Steve’s in MPLS has as much Packers merchandise as Vikings stuff. This, my friends, is fact.

You have to be kidding me if you are a Lions fan.

Vikings are ranked as the 8th or 9th most popular team by outlets that measure fan attendance and jersey sales.

We have fan clubs throughout the country and we represent.

Let me be blunt, I have been to 2 games over the last 4 years at the metrodome-Mall of America field in Minny against the Lions.

    I think I saw 20 Lions fans…..that is all.

Be very aware of your history:

    NFC Central/North titles since 1961:

    VIKINGS: 18
    Packers: 11
    Bears: 10
    Tampa: 3
    Lions: 3

Yes…..3 titles in over 50 years!!!!!!

I hate the packers and bears, but I usually just feel sorry for lions fans.

    Yes, Viking Nation!

Tennessee can now install a play where the TE pole vaults into the end zone.

Thats because everybody in Wisconsin has either moved to Minnesota or they commute to work in Minnesota. There has also been A LOT of people from Chicago moving to Minnesota. Whats does that say about Minnesota? Sure our team hasn’t won a superbowl, but our overall win percentage is great. So all you can say about us is that were choke artists. Were going to be like the red socks as soon as we get one the flood gates will open. Also there is more to life then football and all you packer and bear fans wanna be in MINNESOTA!

    Hahaha, that’s so sad.

Be very aware of YOUR history:

    WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS:
    Green Bay – 13
    Chicago – 9
    Detroit – 0
Minnesota – 0 (1969 is not a World Championship owing to the fact that you got OWNED by the Chiefs in the Superbowl).
