Christian Ponder yet to be cleared after concussion

Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder remains out of action with a concussion, head coach Leslie Frazier said Friday, according to the club.

Matt Cassel will start at quarterback on Sunday at Baltimore, with Josh Freeman likely the top backup.

According to Frazier, Ponder still must pass NFL-mandated concussion testing before returning, and the third-year passer from Florida State is not expected to play on Sunday.

After Sunday’s game at Baltimore, the Vikings finish out their season with home games vs. Philadelphia (Dec. 15) and Detroit (Dec. 29) and a road contest at Cincinnati (Dec. 22).

Why do Packers fans think Christian Ponder is a girl?

Do women really look like that in Wisconsin?

How many concussions has Ponder had this year? It seems like he’s suffered at least three. You’d think that with as stringent as the rules regarding concussion are, there would be a maximum number per year before being forced to put them on IR.

Does it matter? Cassel outplayed him by a mile, he should be done starting for this team permanently.

If you’re wondering who to blame for the Vikings QB disaster you need not look any further than GM Rock Spielman. Let’s look at the quarterbacks he’s amassed over his brilliant career with Minnesota, shall we?

Tarvaris Jackson (Didn’t draft him but kept him on the squad for three more years.)
    Traded for Kelly Holcomb
    Brooks Bollinger
    Gus Frerotte
Brett Favre (Spielman’s one success was signing a decrepit HOFer)
John David Booty (drafted this turd)
Sage Rosenfels (a Rick Spielman favorite)
    Joe Webb
    the ghost of Donovan McNabb
Christian Ponder (#12 overall draft pick)
    McLeod Bethel Thompson
    Matt Cassel

Perhaps a Dolphins fan could chime in about the AJ Feeley debacle.

I’m surprised that everyone there isn’t faking a concussion.

I see your mistake. Your confusing actual concussions caused by blows to the head with the Minnesota version, which is less concussion and more “we don’t want to play this player, but don’t have the stones to give the fans the real reason.”
