Texans fire special teams coach Joe Marciano too

Joe Marciano, Ben Tate AP

Maybe it’s like Survivor, and by the end of the season, the last guy left gets the prize of the head coaching job.

After firing head coach Gary Kubiak earlier in the day, the Texans have also dismissed special teams coach Joe Marciano, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.

He’ll be replaced the rest of the season by assistant special teams coach Bob Ligashesky.

Marciano has been with the Texans since their inception, leaving just runnning backs coach Chick Harris from the inaugural staff in 2002.

Oh! There they go! There they go!

Every time I start talking about special teams a football fan has to pull Joe Marciano out his butt!

    Joe Marciano! Joe Marciano!

It would be cheaper to shell out some quarters for the mechanical bull. Maybe they should start with the pony at the supermarket and work their way up. Things move slow in Texas. Probably too many big heads slowing them down. At least they have a few less cooks in the way for now.

Guess it’s time to clean house. Got really nothing to lose. Make sure you don’t win anymore games and grab that #1 spot. Sad part is, they don’t have to try and lose. They got it down to an art form.

Should have been fired 2 years ago. Kubiak keeping this clown after last season should have been grounds for termination. Good riddance to the both of you.

    This just in:

The Vikings have seceded from the NFL to join the WNBA in hopes of actually winning a championship.

    That’s OK
Take the first pick in the draft and find a Great QB

    PS
I think the Seahawks franchise should be rated about 10 spots higher

If Wade brings in someone named Ronnie Jones to run your special teams, look out!

Texans should have fired him years ago….

Look at returners that have left here and been very successful elsewhere

    Jacoby Jones
    Trindon Holliday
    Quentin Demps

Texans KR and PR is horrible, coverage unites are terrible.

This is a microcosm of why Kubiak failed. He wa loyal to a fault. Not just to coaches but to players as well.

Pay no attention to thepftpoet, he is a packer fan pretending to be a Vikings fan in the same obnoxious way that logicalvoices is a Redskins fan.
