The Chargers have added second-year outside linebacker Melvin Ingram to their active roster, the club said Saturday.

The Chargers’ No. 1 pick in the 2012 draft, Ingram spent the first 12 regular-season games of 2013 on the physically unable to perform list as he recovered from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered in May.

Ingram (6-1, 265) recorded 41 tackles and one sack in 16 games (two starts) as a rookie. As a senior at South Carolina, Ingram notched 10 sacks.

In a corresponding roster move, the Chargers released linebacker Adrian Robinson, who appeared in San Diego’s last two games on special teams.

We need help. Unfortunately I don’t think he’s ready for enough snaps to make a major impact. Good that he can knock the rust off this year and hopefully be ready for a big 2014 though!.

Speaking of PUP, Melvin is the Daschund of D linemen. He has these stubby little arms and legs.

had a very unimpressive year last season. so it is good for SD to get a look at him or else they would have no idea what they have going into year 3 with a first round pick.

Good to hear Ingram is back. He will make plays for them if he stays healthy.
