With their playoff hopes very much in the balance, the Packers are off to a strong start Sunday at Lambeau Field.
Rookie tailback Eddie Lacy powered into the endzone from one yard out to give the Packers a 7-0 lead over visiting Atlanta at the end of one quarter in Green Bay.
On the drive, Lacy racked up 27 yards on seven carries and caught two passes for 22 yards.
Quarterback Matt Flynn also did his part on the Packers’ first scoring march, completing 5-of-6 passes for 52 yards.
The Packers (5-6-1) are 1.5 games behind the NFC North-leading Lions (7-4).
There is a light dusting of snow on the playing surface at Lambeau Field, but it’s nothing compared to conditions in Baltimore and Philadelphia.
