Run in with catering truck delays Vikings flight home

The Vikings played one of the more memorable games of the 2013 season in Baltimore on Sunday and they’ll get a few more hours in the city to ruminate on it before taking off for Minnesota.

Despite the fact that snow was in the air and on the ground during the 29-26 Ravens win, weather has nothing to do with the delay. The team’s plane has been grounded for a spell after a catering truck ran into it at the airport.

Fullback Jerome Felton and defensive tackle Chase Baker each sent out good-humored tweets about the situation. Anyone who has ever dealt with a plane delay knows that finding humor in such situations is easier said than done, even when you’re flying back on a chartered flight and won’t wind up forcing you to miss a meeting or family gathering because of airline machinations.

Running back Adrian Peterson has made his feelings known about the officials and the Ravens fans from Sunday’s game, but he’s yet to check in with his thoughts about the catering truck driver.

“That was the most classless catering truck I’ve ever seen, it actually ran into our plane on purpose.”

    Adrian Peterson said.

I kinda hope it was Randy Moss trying to catch the team…

“This is what good catering tastes like!”

  3. thepftpoet says: Dec 8, 2013 6:34 PM

That was still a better hit than the Packers defense has had all season…

  4. duneroad says: Dec 8, 2013 6:35 PM

Was it the caterer that Randy Moss yelled at a few years ago

  5. thepftpoet says: Dec 8, 2013 6:35 PM

The pieces are in place… After drafting a franchise QB in the draft next year, we will easily be the best NFC North team and be in competition for superbowls during the next 10 years.

  6. doctorrustbelt says: Dec 8, 2013 6:40 PM

This would have never have happened if the baltimore ravens owned the catering service because they would have fazed out trucks and trays to pay one driver $120,000,000.

So… the Minnesota Vikings and their 30th ranked PASS Defense and plane would be safe.

Too bad Bryant McKinnie isn’t around to enjoy it.

  8. yyyass says: Dec 8, 2013 6:47 PM

It does leave him some extra time to spend with one of his kids. There’s bound to one somewhere within 30 minutes of the airport.

Maybe they need to fire up love boat again. This franchise continues to be a joke. AP getting close to his 2500. Dbag

“Running back Adrian Peterson has made his feelings known about the officials”

AP has been making his feelings known a lot lately. First he’s dreaming about playing in Texas, and now he’s whining about the refs.

AP should just shut up and continue with his hall of fame career. Once it’s over, though, he’ll always feel a little empty inside for never having won a Vince Lombardi Trophy.

thepftpoet you make me laugh, you Vikings fans were predicting that this year and look how that turned out for you, and your obsession with the Packers is hilarious

    @darkneptune73

Probly a good thing Bryant Mckinnie isnt around because i doubt the plane would even get off the ground.

The desperation from the Vikings fans on this thread is beyond amusing. Reminds me of the year GB Won the Super Bowl. Lots of negativity from that bunch. I guess having a closet full of purple and not one piece of it says “Super Bowl Champs” on it will drive a bunch of moronic Minnesotans to the brink of insanity. They lose their minds with every Packer win. Must be a sad life when the highlight of your football viewing weekend is an opportunity to post on a story about he Packers and say the Packers suck whether they win, lose or draw.. Hilarious… LOL

I honestly don’t think he cares about winning a Super Bowl. All you hear him talking about are his personal records. If he did care about a SB ring, he would leave and go to some team that has a chance of winning in the next few years.

    Enjoy your 2500 yd seasons!

i like how the Viking Trolls come on here and why the see something negative about the crappy NFL TEAM they have. They assume it’s a packer fan . THE WHOLE NFL LAUGHS AT MN . VIKINGS SUCK

  16. filthymcnasty1 says: Dec 8, 2013 8:01 PM

Even their catering truck is hapless and tasteless.

  17. golforepar says: Dec 8, 2013 8:02 PM

AP knows the Vikes will never win a SB that’s why he likes to talk about individual records.

  18. wolfmanpatriot says: Dec 8, 2013 8:08 PM

    Lesson learned.
    The Vikings don’t mess around.
When they tell you they want a truck load of sammiches on the plane ride home, you give it to em!

Who would want to go back to Minnihaha anyway ?

  20. corvuscorax05 says: Dec 8, 2013 10:53 PM

Football player complaining about snowballs while playing in the snow…

Someone seems extra salty. The least he could have done is help the field crews get rid of the snow and ice.

    The Peterson Snow Plow.

  21. contra74 says: Dec 8, 2013 11:03 PM

One win in 7 weeks and the packer fans break out the war drums hahahaha. This means ticket prices will go up from .30 cents to .40 cents on the dollar.

Nice to see the bandwagon back.

  22. darkneptune73 says: Dec 8, 2013 11:42 PM

Here’s what I don’t get. Vikings fans here mind their own business. Then the Packer fans swarm like bees and try to accuse the other of “complaining”.

    Obsessed much, Packer fans?

  23. contra74isloosbuthole says: Dec 9, 2013 12:30 AM

The vikings haven’t left the ground in awhile now. Maybe the Packers will let you have Arod when they are done with him? Doubt AD wil wait that long though. By then he will be working back home in Texas where he wants to go. Hard to blame him really. The guy just wants a chance at a championship.

As if they didn’t have enough bad luck during the game.

  25. whatjusthapped says: Dec 9, 2013 6:23 AM

The catering truck driver is probably related to Ponder, inaccuracy in their job runs in the family.

  26. uscoach says: Dec 9, 2013 8:41 AM

AP shouldn’t have opened up his mouth. You think this was an accident!?

  27. bigdaddyrockytop says: Dec 9, 2013 8:46 AM

Im curious why some of you think it so easy to get a franchise QB just because you pick higher in the draft. Minny has been trying for 35 years to get one of their own. Bridgewater doesnt look anything like a sure bet to me.

Yeah because someone is going to risk their job to “get back” at a football player for something they said. Well people in Wisconsin might, but I would assume people in Maryland are smarter than that.

  31. packmanfan says: Dec 9, 2013 5:38 PM

No mishaps for the Vikings when they were on a boat full of stripper and hookers.
So maybe they need to surround themselves with few of those girls for protection?

  32. packmanfan says: Dec 9, 2013 5:39 PM

The Vikings could learn how to hit and play better defense from this.
