John Abraham named NFC defensive player of the week

Not only is John Abraham not washed up, he’s playing as well as ever.

The 35-year-old Cardinals pass-rusher was named NFC defensive player of the week, after a 3.0 sack performance against the Rams.

Abraham has 11.0 on the season, and moved ahead of Lawrence Taylor for ninth place on the all-time sack list (133.0). He’s the active leader by about a season’s worth over Jared Allen (124.0).

Getting that kind of production from Abraham — who struggled to find a job for a bit this offseason — has been one of the keys for the Cardinals this year, giving teeth to a defense that had good parts already.

Good to see the greybeard still at it. Falcons lost their only semblance of a pass rush.

Yep, Lavonte David definitely didn’t deserve this after:

    • Leading his team with 9 tackles (8 solo)
    • 1 Sack
    • 2 Interceptions (returned for 57 yards)

Maybe he’ll be defensive player of the month. He deserves it

He led the team in sacks for the Falcons last year, they got rid of him because they thought he was washed up and replaced him with oh see you man, you’re a… a guy who was already deemed “washed up” by his former team. Brilliant!

Great decision by the Falcons when he was willing to make pennies to continue playing for them!!

Here in Arizona, we thank you for your bad decision. You too, Miami.

This should have gone to Junior Galette. He got 3 sacks against the Panthers, a much better team.

Used to be the Cardinals were the team old players went for one last play day. Now it’s a team where old players are going to prove they still have it and earn a future payday.

Gotta love the culture shift in the desert.

This award should of went to Lavonte david, so your telling me 3 sacks is more impressive then 1 sack and TWO INTERCEPTIONS. That’s turnovers right there. So incredibly stupid. I understand my buc’s are one of the worst teams this year, but its a piss off how they can’t notice one of the best defensive players in the league. Look at his god damn stats. Over the last 2 years he has more solo tackles then Kuechly, more sacks and more interceptions.. this league is a joke. Lavonte is getting snubbed from the pro bowl right now too, pathetic.

He is a beast! And yeah after another 3 sack game he deserves it. He also had a safety.

One of those sacks was for a safety. That points right there!
