Peterson, Gerhart both listed as questionable

The status of Vikings running backs Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart has been up in the air all week as the Vikings waited to see what the two players could do on the practice field on Friday.

Their status remains up in the air after that practice. Coach Leslie Frazier said that both players are questionable to face the Eagles and that the team will make their final decision on their availability at some point Saturday or on Sunday morning. Frazier did say that Peterson appeared to be doing well with his foot injury.

“It was impressive when you consider the early diagnosis,” Frazier said, via the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “He’s unique. Very unique. He’s so different than everybody else when it comes to recovering from injuries. We’ve been in situations in the past where you thought he wouldn’t make it and he made it. So it was always in the back of my mind the chance he would make it. He’s amazing.

Frazier was less effusive about Gerhart, who is battling a hamstring injury and wasn’t able to cut as he would in a game during Friday’s practice. Cornerback Xavier Rhodes is doubtful with a sprained ankle and tight end John Carlson has not been cleared after a concussion.

The Vikings depth is so outstanding that our backup (Tony Gerhart) is better than Eddie Lacy.

Man I bet other franchises our so jealous of us.

    Feels great to be great.

Start Freeman at running back! You don’t have to pass or think!

Toby Gerhardt would be an immediate starter if he had to compete with that ham sandwich they call Eddie Lacy. But we have him as our backup. No big deal.

Patterson can always run the rock! But not against my Birds. This game was over once AP was ruled out.

As a Viking fan, I’m not concerned. Matt Asiata finally gets a chance to prove what he can do, and he’ll do it.

The last time these two teams met, a young rookie QB (Joe “just the facts ma’am” Webb) made his first NFL start, on a Tuesday night, and led the Vikings to an upset victory over the playoff bound Eagles, knocking them out of contention for a first-round bye in the process.

Harrison Smith is back he’s going to pick off Nick Foles, and the Vikings are going to score the upset.

I heard that Peterson actually pulled his groin while fathering another illegitimate child.

Peterson is still crying because people threw snowballs at him… Sniff sniff. Guy’s a beast but man I lost respect for him after last week’s comments. It’s sad cus he’s so talented but he’ll never get a ring.

If greatness is defined by being an historic symbol of abject failure, then I’m in 100% agreement.

Put Freeman in at RB, since he can’t do anything else. Vikings clinch the worst move of season picking up Freeman. Tampa Bay is laughing at the Vikings!

Just sit out one more game AP 🙂

Gerhart is physically questionable while PEDerson is morally questionable. Actually, there’s no question about it. AP is an egomaniac who doesn’t deserve a championship. At least he’s on the right team to never win one.
