Steelers bring up defensive end Brian Arnfelt from practice squad

The Steelers added some defensive line depth on Saturday, signing rookie end Brian Arnfelt from their practice squad.

Arnfelt (6-4, 298) signed with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of Northwestern in April. He has been on the club’s practice squad all season.

The Steelers have some injury issues at defensive end. Brett Keisel (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game vs. Cincinnati, while Ziggy Hood (ankle) is probable.

With Arnfelt joining the roster, the Steelers waived inside linebacker Kion Wilson, who appeared in seven games and made two early-season starts for Pittsburgh.

Steelers are woefully thin at ILB this year with Larry Foote out.

Earlier in the year they cut Stevenson Silvester then later got him back. Meanwhile they started Kion Wilson at ILB but now they’ve cut him.

So Troy Polamalu has played some at ILB – about 1/2 the snaps last game.

Sean Spence still hopes to play next year.

Wilson is a great special team player. I’m sure he will be resigned before Christmas.

With the emergence of Heyward I’m worried that this is Keisel’s last ride with the Steelers.

Keisel, Clark, and Ike Rooney (Taylor) may be playing their last games in a Steeler uniform.

Steeler fans that watched this guy in the preseason have been eagerly awaiting this move. Glad to see it happen even through injury.

I’m pretty sure Keisel has played his last game in the black & gold. Solid player and better guy. Wish him the best. 6 Lombardi’s hahaha.

They would be better off losing out and getting a high draft pick next season. They need the help.

The Bengals O-line is going to turn that kid into a tortilla.
