Charles Johnson will play despite the flu

As of Saturday, Panthers defensive end Charles Johnson was battling the flu.

As of Sunday, Johnson will be battling the Jets.

Johnson is active and ready to play against the Panthers. He returned last week after missing two games with a sprained MCL.

Inactives for Carolina are receiver Tavarres King, receiver Marvin McNutt, cornerback Josh Norman, running back Jonathan Stewart, linebacker Jordan Senn, cornerback Josh Norman, and offensive lineman Travis Bond.

The 9-4 Panthers are closing in on a playoff berth, and they still have a shot at winning the NFC South.
