Jamaal Charles running wild in Oakland

AP

Jamaal Charles is doing things that no one has ever done before today in Oakland.

Charles, the Chiefs’ running back, has seven catches for 187 yards and four touchdowns today against the Raiders, and also added a rushing touchdown. That makes him the first player in NFL history with four receiving touchdowns and a rushing touchdown in the same game.

The Raiders’ secondary has been a mess, and cornerback Charles Woodson exited with a rib injury.

Amazingly, despite Charles’ record day, the Chiefs haven’t put this one away: The Raiders’ offense is also going wild, and late in the third quarter, the Raiders trail only 42-31.

This game seems destined for more craziness in the fourth quarter. And Charles’ game seems destined to be the subject of a great NFL Films highlight reel for many years to come.
