Niners didn’t give Vernon Davis a concussion exam

Davis

After 49ers tight end Vernon Davis slammed into the wall to cap a second-quarter touchdown reception at Raymond James Stadium, he looked woozy and wobbly and possibly concussed.

But no concussion test was administered to Davis.

“He showed no ill effects when he came to the sideline and there was no call from the independent trainer in the booth upstairs,” team spokesman Bob Lange told PFT via email after Sunday’s win over the Buccaneers.

It’s likely that Davis doesn’t have a concussion. But with Davis running into a wall, his head snapping, and Davis clearly taking some time to collect his wits after landing on the ground, it seems odd that the 49ers didn’t at least take a look at him -- especially since he was coming to the sidelines for the extra point, kickoff, and ensuing Buccaneers possession.
