We’re not through with the first quarter in St. Louis yet, but the Rams have already built a two score lead over the Saints.

Drew Brees was intercepted by Rams safety T.J. McDonald on his first throw of the game and then picked off again by cornerback Trumaine Johnson in the end zone to end the second Saints drive. The Rams turned both turnovers into touchdowns as Kellen Clemens hit Cory Harkey for a 31-yard touchdown one play after the McDonald pick and then found Lance Kendricks from four yards out after taking the Rams 93 yards down the field.

The Rams are keeping the pedal down as well. They called an onside kick after the Kendricks touchdown and wide receiver Stedman Bailey recovered it to give the Rams the ball near midfield with two minutes to go in the first quarter.

The defense is going to need a stop to keep the Rams from running away with this one before the halftime break.
