Seahawks defense smothers Giants in first half

The Seahawks want to play at MetLife Stadium in February and their scouting trip has been a big success thus far.

They lead the Giants 13-0 at halftime after holding the Giants to 54 yards and picking Eli Manning off three times. The final pick came on a Hail Mary effort just before the half when Richard Sherman came down with his second wounded duck of the game. Sherman now has a league-leading 14 interceptions since the start of last season and Manning now has a league-leading 23 interceptions for this season.

The Giants defense has done a good job when they haven’t been handed a mess by the offense. Their pass rush has been particularly effective, dropping Russell Wilson three times, but the overall pressure that the offensive ineptitude has placed on their shoulders has been too much.

If the offense can’t do something else in the second half, the Seahawks will cruise to another step toward home field in the playoffs. If they get that, they’ll be heavy favorites for that return visit to New Jersey.

It must just be the PEDs.

    Go Hawks!

    Boring teams; game.

I love DirecTV. Both Seattle and the 49ers game are one sided SloberKnockers.

I hate the Hawks as their fans hate the 49ers. But these two defenses kick butt!

Eli Manning is absolutely atrocious. He could be the worst QB with multiple super bowl rings.

Wow Eli Manning is just terrible

Eli Manning has ZERO time to throw the ball, and that without blitzing.

I’ve been watching this great game for over 40 years now and this Giants O-line could be the worst I’ve ever seen.

#73 in particular is a complete joke and should never see the field again.

don’t blame eli, blame the giants offensive line

Very high quality interception thrown by Wilson there.

Seattle is not good enough to beat denver. They don’t score enough. Defense may be able to slow down manning to, oh, four or five offensive scores, but the Seattle offense just isn’t good enough to put that many up.

Same with New England. They are a field goal team. Good offense but they just can’t get it into the endzone without gronkowskii.

The o-line is not throwing the ball, AND this is not the first year Eli has led the league in INTs. Both of those rings are thanks largely in part to his defense and an insane catch.

Wow, the pressure is is going to be on Gino Smith big time! He’s gotta throw 4 today in order to tie Eli.

That’s a tough feat, but not impossible.

Giants offensive line is getting beat from all angles. 3 man rush and Bennett destroyed the rookie RT. McDonald, Bryant and Wagner all killing the inside of the line.

Eli rushed he throws some 50/50 balls. Nicks is not fighting for anything. Maxwell is having a lights out game 2 picks, Sherman 2 picks. Lane is been a stud at nickel and Gunner. Can’t imagine how scary the secondary will be when Thurmond comes back.

Or you could credit the #1 defense in the NFL..

    Go Hawks!!

Peyton Manning couldn’t play behind this Oline

The hawks don’t score enough points to beat Denver? Did you watch the Thursday night game by any chance? Chargers held them to 20 points. I think seattle is the more balanced team but don’t get me wrong Denver is really good .

    (Y) means thumbs up.

You hawk haters look really stupid, FYI.

  18. halbert53 says: Dec 15, 2013 3:56 PM

Now Eli understands the bad O-lines Archie played behind most of his years as a Saint.

  19. DonKellyBaby says: Dec 15, 2013 4:03 PM

Eli Manning has thrown 25 Ints in one season for the 2nd time in his career.

  20. roadtrip3500 says: Dec 15, 2013 4:04 PM

If Hakeem Nicks thought he was going to get #1 receiver money, this 4th quarter shows why he shouldn’t. Both Seattle picks in the quarter were on Nicks – if you can’t make the catch, you have to make the effort to play DB so that it’s not intercepted. Nicks has been playing with alligator arms or not finishing his routes all season, and today was no exception.

I brought up PEDs and that was sarcastic. Just making fun of all the losers who do it all the time

    Go hawks

Taintedsaints – buds the Seahawks are the second highest scoring team in the nfl dude your comments make you sound stupid not knowing that . They had some stalled drives and got FGs the last couple of weeks but they score a lot and often just aren’t a wide open team so you don’t realize it … C’mon man make some sense atleast !
