Jason Garrett: Dez Bryant needs to stay until the game is over

Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant walked off the field before the game was over in Sunday’s loss to the Packers. Cowboys coach Jason Garrett plans to tell Bryant not to do it again.

Garrett said 105.3 The Fan that Bryant needs to know he’s expected to remain with his team until the game is over.

“We’ll address that with Dez today,” Garrett said, via ESPN.com. “I understand why to a certain extent, they’re kneeling the ball, the game essentially is over, he’s an emotional guy, we’re all very emotional about what we do. But he needs to stay out on the field and I’ll address that with him today. And just explain why it’s important to do that and he’ll understand.”

Garrett added, however, that Bryant is a good teammate, and Garrett has no questions about Bryant’s commitment to the Cowboys.

“He loves his teammates he loves this team, has a great passion for winning. You have to understand how to handle yourself in those situations. He’ll learn from this situation,” Garrett said.

With two games to go and the Cowboys still in a position where winning out will get them in the playoffs, Dallas needs Bryant to be committed for a full 60 minutes.
