Lions’ offense starts fast

Matthew Stafford AP

In a big game for both teams, the Lions’ offense has made a big early statement against the Ravens’ defense.

Detroit received the opening kickoff and marched down the field on an eight-play, 78-yard drive that ended with Reggie Bush racing around the left end for a 14-yard touchdown run.

The drive was spurred by a 23-yard catch-and-run by running back Joique Bell to convert on a third down, and another third down became a first down only because the Ravens hit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford after he had already gone down on a feet-first slide.

Now the Ravens’ offense will have to answer, after the Lions’ offense struck first.

YES! I love to see the rats struggle to breathe! Suffocate! Suffocate! Suffocate!

Here we go Lions; here we go! See yourself as the extension of God today, as you have the Steelers’ blessing.

    OMG, Flacco is SOO bad!

  4. thefiesty1 says: Dec 16, 2013 9:15 PM

Yea, but they are the Lions. What’s it been since they had a Division championship? 20 Years! Ho Humm!

I need Reggie bush to have a killer game and flacco and those receivers to kill it. I need to make my fantasy football championship.

I hope the Ravens lose. I’ll be honest guys, I don’t like the Ravens.

  8. dcapettini says: Dec 16, 2013 9:35 PM

The Ravens give every other team the advantage by running the ball on every 2nd and long, usually for no gain. Game after game, the same pattern.

OH LOOK, the nfl giving the lions phantom calls as usual. It’s getting outlandishly obvious, it’s sickening!

Wow this game is bad so far.

  11. lionsden1317 says: Dec 16, 2013 9:50 PM

Looks like the refs are gonna do their part in making sure the Ravens win this game. I don’t see why, the Lions do enough to lose the game their own way…without help.

Nice phantom facemask and pass interference…here goes another crappy officiated game…what a joke

Two easy drops from Mega. Come on!

  14. lionsden1317 says: Dec 16, 2013 9:54 PM

Another crucial drop by Calvin to kill yet another drive. He better figure it out during halftime or it will be a long night.

Everytime Joe Flacco throws, it’s a jumpball or a completion of less than 4 yards. Every jumpball he throws, the refs are calling pass interference when it’s inevitably incomplete…

  16. lionsden1317 says: Dec 16, 2013 10:04 PM

The Ravens defence is playing ok but, like usual, it’s the Lions offence that is keeping the other team in the game.

Who is running the sideline camera with the goofy & crooked angles; in front of & behind the line of scrimmage which keeps important parts of the field out of view. Eeysh!

I think it’s great the way the top NFC North teams are all valiantly battling to the final weeks of the season for a glorious playoff berth. The Lions, Bears and Packers are each a credit to the proud history of the Black and Blue Division. and to the NFL community.

And then there are the hapless and tasteless Vikings.

I personally called Lynn Swann. He give CJ his blessings for this game. Guess what, buddy? That means God has your back here.

Lions are going down tonight. Go Ravens!! (9-7 halftime).

    Lionsden1317:

That last pass to CJ was slightly behind him and he had to slow his stride and it messed up his timing. He still should have caught it but that’s a common issue with Stafford not making it easy for the WRs. Every game has a myriad of some peculiar Stafford balls and we have already seen a few more today. I’m surprised Gruden didn’t harp on that last pass to CJ like he did for the sloppy pass he made to Bell that he wasn’t able to snag.

Schwartz’s arrogant smirk reminds me of Jerry Sandusky’s.

  24. lionsden1317 says: Dec 16, 2013 10:15 PM

    Exactly classyjack…

They know that Flacco can’t throw it that well so they bail him out again and again. Getting really sad how they make up for his inadequacies.
