Wes Welker still out of practice because of concussion

NFL: Washington Redskins at Denver Broncos Reuters

After a short-week loss to the Chargers, the Broncos were still a bit short-handed when they returned to work Monday.

While it was essentially an extra day of work before this week’s game at Houston, the Broncos were without wide receiver Wes Welker, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post.

Welker missed last week’s loss after suffering his second concussion in a month. Whether he’s cleared to work Wednesday or later in the week will carry far more weight.

Quarterback Peyton Manning also got most of the day off to rest. Defensive lineman Derek Wolfe (illness) and cornerback Kayvon Webster (broken thumb) were out as well.

Not that they don’t take every opponent seriously, but the Broncos do have a reasonably easy time of it down the stretch, finishing with the Raiders after this week’s date with the Texans. By winning both, they can secure the top seed in the AFC playoffs and home field advantage.

Keep Welker out as long as he needs to be out. Bronco’s need him for playoffs. Not against the Texans or Raiders.

Well, that would explain why he took a 40 minute shower and missed the second half of the game.

Wes needs rest. I wasn’t surprised to see Decker and D. Thomas fail to make plays against San Diego. Wes and Peyton are the real winners. Decker or Thomas will be split up next season. They owe Wes and Peyton an apology for pretending to be competent WR.

Don’t believe me? Had Wes been there even w/concussion they would have won.

Excuses excuses and if Avery wouldn’t have dropped 4 passes down field for Kc against Denver they would have won it’s all excuses they got beat just the same as Kc they weren’t the better team that day and showed they can be beat in Denver
