On Monday, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said that an update regarding receiver Percy Harvin will be coming on Wednesday. Whatever the update is, don’t expect to see him before the postseason.
Harvin, who has played in one game this year and has missed three since then due to an ongoing hip problem, hasn’t practiced in recent weeks. Carroll has said that Harvin will be week-to-week until he can practice, at which point he’ll become day-to-day.
Regardless, the Seahawks regard Harvin as a long-term, year-to-year asset. While he hasn’t paid dividends yet, the Seahawks have been better than fine without him. If he can contribute in the postseason, it’ll be an added benefit.
With the Seahawks likely to handle their business at home in the postseason, the ultimate goal should be to have a full package of plays for Harvin ready to go for Super Bowl XLVIII, the next time they’ll have to leave CenturyLink Field after closing out the season with back-to-back home games against the Cardinals and Rams.
