The Cowboys are hopeful that Sean Lee will be able to return to the lineup this season, but they shut down another linebacker on Tuesday.

The team announced that Justin Durant has been placed on injured reserve. Durant reinjured his hamstring last weekend after three games on the sideline, leaving the Cowboys short on healthy linebackers. They’ve addressed that by signing Orie Lemon to the roster.

Lemon was dropped by the Cowboys a week ago after rejoining the team in November when Dallas signed him off the Cardinals practice squad. Lemon played in two games with the team this year and five games last year.

The Cowboys also announced that they have released defensive tackle Drake Nevis and linebacker Kyle Bosworth. Nick Eatman of the team’s website reports that the Cowboys are expected to sign kick returner Micheal Spurlock to fill one of the open spots and a defensive lineman off another team’s practice squad to fill the other.
