Terrell Suggs “definitely” aware he’s gone six games without a sack

The Ravens face the Patriots this week, which meant that a lot of people are looking for a fiery quote from Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs about Patriots quarterback Tom Brady to help pump up the hype heading into the game.

Suggs, who hasn’t been shy about discussing his hate for Brady and the Pats in the past, didn’t offer any on Wednesday even when offered with a chance to comment on the unpenalized hit to Joe Flacco’s knees that was similar to one Suggs delivered to Brady a couple of years ago that did draw a flag.

Suggs had more to say about going the last six games without a sack after opening the year with nine sacks in the first eight games. It’s been part of an overall drop in productivity for Suggs, which he admits is on his mind even as he focuses on the team’s success over that span.

“I think about it a lot but in those six games, we’re 5-1,” Suggs said, via Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun. “It’s definitely in the back of my mind but I can’t let that be my number one focus. As long as we’re winning, I’ll accept that. It’s bittersweet. We’re 5-1 and if we handle business and win out, we’ll be in the playoffs.”

The Patriots may not have left tackle Nate Solder this week and their blockers struggled to slow Cameron Wake and the Dolphins pass rush last weekend. If Suggs can have similar success, the Ravens will have a much better chance of running what little is left of the table.

It must be because he doesn’t have Paul Kruger across from him anymore…

Paul Kruger has been a non-factor in cleveland as THE OZ himself expected. Its not a suprise. Most guys overachieve in the Ravens Defense. Honestly beside Barnes and Scott. Most of the departed defensive players have done nothing on their other teams. A. Thomas comes to mind most recently

    break a leg!

That’s nothing. I think your QB has gone 6 games without throwing a TD.

Maybe if he would spend less time trash talking and whining to the officials and mugging for the camera, he could play better. This creep should not be in the NFL anyway.

I am sure he will bounce back. The guy is a baller. I wish he would come to Cleveland.

Ya’ll should read the original article. Shows a maturity that comes from being the new defensive leader. Love it T-sizzle.

Now go Ball So Hard and help this team into the postseason for the 6th straight year!

“Ellerbe has been a beast for the Fins! Thankssssss!!Have fun golfing in a few weeks ravens”

You’re welcome. Meanwhile Daryl Smith has been even better for a fraction of the price of what Ellerbe got from the Phins.

As far as Suggs goes, he does a lot more than just get sacks to help this team win. He is very important in the run game and routinely breaks plays up in the backfield. He should consider TFL (Tackles for losses) a sack on the running back or receiver.

I haven’t enjoyed his mouth in the past. I don’t really like the “ball so hard” university thing…but it motivates him and the players around him.

I’d take 5-1 over Suggs getting a single sack in a game in those 6 and losing each one.
