Nick Foles fined $10,000 for low block on Erin Henderson

Nick Foles AP

Not only did Nick Foles cost himself a touchdown, he cost himself a nice chunk of change.

The Eagles quarterback was fined $10,000 for his illegal peelback block on Vikings linebacker Erin Henderson last week.

Diving at Henderson’s knees took a DeSean Jackson touchdown off the board in the loss to the Vikings as well, making it a costly mistake for Foles.

Defensive players league-wide, however, are probably celebrating since they don’t feel like they’re being protected.

Just for the record, that still counts as a TD during contract negotiations.

Nick Foles still hits harder than any player on the Packers defense

He didn’t even have to do block Henderson. Henderson was so out of position and wasn’t going to catch DeSean

No worries. Win two more games and take the division. It’s actually bigger news when they don’t win the division…

Gotta be the first one of these new fines I’ve seen on a QB.

Wish somebody wouldve done that week 1 so we could’ve had a real MLB playing on defense. Henderson is an outside linebacker, and the biggest problem earlier in the season was the defense not being set or making adjustments on the field, that all goes back to the middle linebacker.

Id like to see Foles as a lead blocker for Shady Sunday night!

    That’s like 40% of Foles’ 2013 salary.

Between his big stat day and taking a Jackson TD run off the board, Nick Foles saved my fantasy season. Thanks, Nick!

Unnecessary roughness on a quarterback?! Foles gets my MVP vote!

the fine should have been as big as a dl hitting a qb on the knees

    Foles wanted the bounty money.

This puts Foles in the Brett Favre area for gutsy quarterback plays.

I don’t know why he bothered, as I’m sure Henderson was busy running himself out of position anyhow.

I figured he wouldn’t get fined and would be considered “defenseless” throughout the play. If the punter is then wouldn’t the quarterback be the same?
