Steve Smith probable with dislocated finger

The Panthers are entering Sunday’s de facto NFC South title game against the Saints with nearly a full deck.

Wide receiver Steve Smith, who missed practice Thursday after dislocating his middle finger Wednesday, is listed as probable and will play, according to Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer.

Asked if the finger was going to present a problem for him catching passes, Panthers coach Ron Rivera cracked “Well, he’s got nine other ones.”

The Panthers also have a full complement of alternatives, as running back Jonathan Stewart (knee) is the only player listed as out. Everyone else on the report is listed as probable.

If there ever was a moment for the Panthers to prove what they are made of… This would be the game.

to think it is going to be so easy to play and be effective with a dislocated finger on a wide out is crazy. Thats like saying a running back with turf toe still has 9 other toes to run with.

The Saints will be at 100% strength as well.

Nine fingers were enough for Jerry Garcia.

As long as he is just as effective as he was the last game everything should be fine.

Cam Newton is awful. the Secondary is awful and the only thing they really have going for them is they are at home (which the stadium always looks half empty anyway).
