Texas high school takes shot at Cowboys, Jones

AT&T Stadium hosts plenty of events.  Including the Texas high school football championships.

Given the struggles of the NFL team that also plays there, one of the teams to be battling for one of the various Texas high school titles this weekend has taken a shot at the primary tenants — and at the landlord.

Via the Dallas Morning News, fans of Aledo High School can purchase a sweatshirt with a message for the Cowboys and their owner/G.M., Jerry Jones.

Says the hoodie, which can be had for $25:  “Dear Jerry, we heard you need a winner.  We will be there this weekend.  Hang tight!  Love, Aledo.”

Aledo plays Saturday in the Class 4A Division II championship game.  A win would be an appropriate exclamation point on the players’ glory days.

Every player on this Texas high school football team is still more mature than Dez Bryant

Neither funny nor insulting if you ask me. The real problem though is that it seems arrogant for them to already be celebrating their “win” — I hope they lose and get to “enjoy” those t-shirts for years to come. Then it’ll be funny.

And that’s how you get the hot water turned off in the Aledo locker room.

Well they sure didn’t give much time for customers to receive their shirt via Ground shipping in time for the game. Why couldn’t they at least get this offer out a couple days earlier? I just can’t take this business operation seriously.

And I don’t see any Lions products on their site either. That’s all they got, ONE shirt design? LAME!

$25? Uggh, I’m going to Kohl’s this weekend.

Do they understand that playing there is a PRIVILIGE? So being arrogant and disrespectful towards the organization that’s HOSTING them seem a bit out of bounds, even though it’s somewhat deserved.

And we wonder now a days why our young people seem to have this sense of entitlement. Where is the Superintendent, principal, head coach. You talk about setting an example to our youth. I’m not a Dallas or Jerry Jones fan by any means, but this was totally wrong and stupid!

Seriously, who is going to take the time to read all that on a t-shirt? Is there a “continued on back” on there?

The whole point of t-shirt slogans is to say something in as few words as possible so people get your message in the briefest glance anyone is ever going to give you.

It’s not really funny mostly because it makes no sense.

If Jerry wants to own and manage his own team and by that in a quite poorly fashion then he deserves any bit of criticism any other Owner and GM would get…..ONLY DOUBLE, because he’s doing 2 jobs, and doing them quite poorly I might add.

I would love to have an owner in San Diego like Jerry. He has a great passion for his own product and I can respect that. But when you call the shots, you have to be able to take shots too.

    Lame and unfunny.

Don’t expect any future tickets to Cowboys games!

Maybe Jerry got a laugh out of the shirts…

Apparently that school broke the state and national scoring record this year….

Maybe their coach should interview with Jerry while he’s up there…

Well considering over 325 million dollars of taxpayer money was used for the stadium’s construction, they have about as much right to be there as Jerry does.

I was around back when it was the glory hole days. Epic

Well now I just want that crappy little high school team to lose.

  16. mayers59 says: Dec 20, 2013 11:27 PM

Yes, 325 million was used, Voters CHOSE to use it. Didn’t have to. Jerry put up over 500 million of his own money. I’m not a Jones fan by any means, but I would be tempted to tell Aledo to find another place to play.

    The t-shirt should say,

    “Dear Jerry,

If you want a winner, fire the GM since he hasn’t won a Super Bowl in 19 years.”
