We noted this morning that Browns receiver Davone Bess was reportedly dealing with some personal issues and had been the subject of fan and media scrutiny over an eyebrow-raising picture that had appeared online. Whatever issues Bess is dealing with, they won’t affect the Browns for the last two games of the season.
That’s because he won’t be on the Browns for the last two games of the season: The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Bess has been moved from the active roster to the non-football illness list. There’s no word on the nature of Bess’s illness, but the Plain Dealer report says this decision had nothing to do with any illegal activities.
The picture of Bess that drew attention this week showed him lighting a cigarette that may or may not have contained tobacco.
In his first year with the Browns, Bess is fourth on the team with 42 catches for 362 yards.
