Browns put Davone Bess on non-football illness list

We noted this morning that Browns receiver Davone Bess was reportedly dealing with some personal issues and had been the subject of fan and media scrutiny over an eyebrow-raising picture that had appeared online. Whatever issues Bess is dealing with, they won’t affect the Browns for the last two games of the season.

That’s because he won’t be on the Browns for the last two games of the season: The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Bess has been moved from the active roster to the non-football illness list. There’s no word on the nature of Bess’s illness, but the Plain Dealer report says this decision had nothing to do with any illegal activities.

The picture of Bess that drew attention this week showed him lighting a cigarette that may or may not have contained tobacco.

In his first year with the Browns, Bess is fourth on the team with 42 catches for 362 yards.

I’m not sure if being dumb enough to post a picture of yourself smoking a joint is considered an illness…

Josh Gordon is the only receiver worth mentioning with regards to the Browns. This guy is going to dominate targets these next two weeks, not like he wasnt anyway.

I wonder if the Dolphins knew something the Browns didn’t. It seemed pretty odd at the time that they would trade him for so little in return.

Guess instagram photos of him and Bob Marley aren’t a good thing.

Better him than Gordon. Gordon can be gone for a year in the matter of a puff.

Devone Bess hasn’t been even close to what he was in Miami. I don’t blame him if he didn’t want to be in Cleveland, who would?

He was lighting up for his dog. Or maybe Chris Perez was at the door and he wanted to greet him in an manner Perez is comfortable with.

Everyone loves to trash Cleveland. We seem to be the country ‘s whipping boy. But Bess is truly awful, maybe worse than Greg Little.

Dolphins did know that Bess would want to come back to them on the cheap with weed being so much better in Miami than Cleveland.Too many stems and seeds in Cleveland.

Bess is a good player or at least he was in Miami, maybe we can put his lack of catches down down too the muppets throwing him the ball.

  16. borisbulldog says: Dec 21, 2013 6:39 PM

Bess was brought in from MIA as a 3rd down WR that moved the chains.

This year the only he moved was his azz to the sidelines as he dropped balls on 3rd down!

Hopefully he’ll be one and done with the Browns next year!

Bess suffers from Swinophobia, Fear of pigs, it is so severe it includes pigskins, that explains his constantly dropping the ball.

You’d think that a stoner like Davone Bess wouldn’t drop anything passed to him by a guy named WEEDen.

  19. danjacob12 says: Dec 21, 2013 7:51 PM

Don’t laugh, Bess’s illness is a chronic condition.
