Dolphins got unexpected early-morning wake-up call

As the Dolphins prepare for a critical game in Buffalo, their sleep was disrupted. A little.

A fire alarm went off in Miami’s hotel. The Dolphins confirmed the incident to PFT, pegging the time the alarm began at roughly 3:00 a.m. ET.

Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post, who was staying at the hotel, first reported the development. Despite reports elsewhere that the alarm sounded for an extended period of time, Abramson reports that the alarm “shut off pretty quickly.” Still, a loud fire truck eventually arrived, and some hotel patrons evacuated their rooms -- which may have created even more noise as those 500-pound hotel doors slammed shut.

It’s the first known middle-of-the-night fire alarm at a visiting team’s hotel since 2009, when it happened to both the Jets and the Bills when getting ready to play the Patriots in New England.

The Dolphins can make it to the playoffs with a win over the Bills this week and the Jets next week, or with one win and some help.
