Emmanuel Sanders questionable with knee injury

The Steelers are still breathing in the race for the AFC’s final playoff spot, but they aren’t sure if they’ll have wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders in the lineup as they try to beat the Browns in Week 17.

Sanders was deemed questionable by coach Mike Tomlin at his Monday press conference, via Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, because of a meniscus injury. Sanders caught a touchdown in the first half of Pittsburgh’s 38-31 victory, but didn’t play in the second half after injuring his knee. The injury occurred without any contact, which often brings worse outcomes than the one Sanders got on Sunday.

If Sanders can’t play, the Steelers would have to turn to rookie Markus Wheaton. Wheaton fractured a finger against the Packers, so he won’t be 100 percent next Sunday either.

Tomlin said linebacker Terence Garvin is also questionable for the Browns game after hurting his knee.

Is it still too late to accept NE’s offer sheet?

Sanders has most likely played his way out of Pittsburgh and truth be told we should have taken the draft picks and got more out of Wheaton this season.

Will Sanders be ready for the playoffs?

Well that sucks. Now we don’t have anyone who will drop passes at key moments in the game.

I would love to see if Wheaton can do anything or even Moye or are they busts already?

I won’t question the unjury, but it is ironic that this non contact injury happened right after he made it a point to say he wouldn’t coast and would play out the last 2 games, unlike how he was “injured” at the end of last yr.

No great loss. Between his terrible contract resigning and Wheaton doing nothing, The GM continues some bad decisions. At this point Cotchery is an upgrade over Sanders
