The Steelers are still breathing in the race for the AFC’s final playoff spot, but they aren’t sure if they’ll have wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders in the lineup as they try to beat the Browns in Week 17.

Sanders was deemed questionable by coach Mike Tomlin at his Monday press conference, via Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, because of a meniscus injury. Sanders caught a touchdown in the first half of Pittsburgh’s 38-31 victory, but didn’t play in the second half after injuring his knee. The injury occurred without any contact, which often brings worse outcomes than the one Sanders got on Sunday.

If Sanders can’t play, the Steelers would have to turn to rookie Markus Wheaton. Wheaton fractured a finger against the Packers, so he won’t be 100 percent next Sunday either.

Tomlin said linebacker Terence Garvin is also questionable for the Browns game after hurting his knee.
